Why do I make art?

Art is relaxing, it's a way for me to focus on something other than day to day life. And hopefully it can become my career. When I was little I always just drew the things I liked: animals, cartoons, my own toys. As I grew I started to use art as more of an emotional outlet. Character design in particular always stuck out to me.

What makes me me?

While my experiences do not define who I am they do shape me. I have always suffered with sever depression and gender dysphoria, often falling suicidal and finding it hard to deal with my day to day life. I have made a few attempts in the past, and even the recent past, but I want to look forward. I will always struggle with my mental illnesses but I hope to find happiness through creating art.
